Description

Gratitude House will hold its 15th Annual Walk for Recovery on Saturday, April 17. The goal of the event is to raise funds and awareness about addiction issues, and celebrate the positive strides being made by those in recovery. Jonetha Curtis and Angela Wing Allen are cochairmen of the 5-K walk, which will be held at Dreher Park, 1301 Summit Blvd, West Palm Beach Registration begins at 8:30 am and includes a warm-up yoga session. The walk will begin promptly at 9:00 am, rain or shine. This year's family friendly event includes a post-walk ceremony with top prizes and a picnic. There will be games, bounce houses and face painting for the children. From the stage, beginning at 11:00 AM there will be a troop of puppeteers from Lake Worth, a DJ, bands, and a singing group from Gratitude House staff and clients and a karaoke contest. Throughout the day there will be a silent auction and raffles including a 50/50 cash raffle. Non-walkers may attend the picnic at a cost of $5per person for advance tickets (available at Gratitude House) and $7 the day of the event. All walkers receive a complimentary lunch and all walkers raising $50 or more will receive a Gratitude Housetee shirt. This year's sponsors include Park Avenue BBQ Grille and Cheney Brothers. Among the raffles prizes is Palm Beach County Sheriff Office "Sheriff-for-a-Day," which includes both a helicopter ride and a boat ride More registration and additional information, contact Jonetha Curtis at (561) 833-6826 x228 or jonethac@gratitudehouse.org.
