Description

Today’s digital cameras offer automatic everything, making it easy for the casual snapshooter to take good pictures. But by moving out of automatic mode, you enjoy more creative control of your photography. This three-day course shows you how to take advantage of camera options that enable you to manipulate focus, exposure, and color to suit your personal vision. The course begins with a review ofhow aperture, shutter speed, and ISO affect focus and exposure. Then you’ll learn why, when, and howto use such features as aperture-priority autoexposure, shutter-priority autoexposure, manual exposure, exposure metering modes, and focus modes. Among other techniques, you’ll find out how to alterdepth of field, “stop” action, get better results with a built-in flash, and use your camera’s whitebalance control. You’ll also learn the pros and cons of shooting in the Camera Raw and JPEG file formats and get advice about resolution, file storage, and more. You do not need a digital SLR to getthe most from this course, but your camera should offer some manual or semi-automatic exposure andfocus options.
